Climate Change Landscape of Nepal in the Last 10 Years: A Global Comparison With Some Case Studies -By Mahesh Khadka, FOA, AFU (maheshkhadka98095@gmail.com) Abstract The climate change landscape in Nepal over the past decade reveals a distinct vulnerability due to its diverse ecological zones and mountainous geography. Nepal has experienced a significant temperature rise of approximately 0.6°C over the past 40 years, which is more pronounced in the Himalayas. This warming trend has led to increased glacial melt, threatening water security for billions in South Asia. The country has also seen erratic weather patterns, with unpredictable monsoon rains causing both floods and droughts, negatively impacting agriculture and food security, especially in the Terai region. Glacial retreats have raised the risk of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs), while biodiversity and public health are increasingly affected.   मासिक लाखौंको फाइदा गर्छन रुपन्देही छपियाका माछा व्यापारिहरुले??? - महेश खड्का म ४ महिनाको लागि कृषि तथा वन विज्ञान विश्वविद्यालयको Learning Entrepreneurial Experience (LEE) कार्यक्रम अन्तर्गत रहेर प्रधानमन्त्री कृषि आधुनिकिकरण परियोजना , माछा सुपर जोन, रुपन्देहीमा कार्यरत छु। माछा उत्पादनको प्रमुख क्षेत्र ,छपियामा म बस्न लागेको ३ महीना पूरा भयो । यहि दौरानमा थुप्रै माछा किसान र व्यावसायिहरुसङ भेटने अबसर मिल्यो । धेरै-जसोको घर चल्ने नै मुलतः माछापालन बाटै रहेछ । कतिपय अन्य किसान त कारमा चढ्ने नि हुनुहुन्थ्यो। म सदैव किसानलाई कारमा चढ्ने औकातमा पुर्याउछु भन्ने मान्छे वास्तवमै किसानलाइ कारमा देख्दा खुशी सङसङै अचम्मित परे । राज कुमार मलाहा र राजु यादव नाम गरेका दुई माछा व्यापारी एबम माछा उत्पादक किसानसङ भलाकुसारि गर्न मौका जुर्यो। उहाँहरुको सफलता पछाडि बर्षौको सङघर्ष लुकेको छ, हेक्का रहोस कि यो कुनै २-४ महिनामै भएको सफलता होइन । मेरो घरतिरका मान्छेहरुले मनग्ये नाफा कमाउदा पनि आफ्नो ब्यबसाय घाटामा रहेको भन्नु हुन्छ , यो चलन नै भै सक्यो उहाँहरुको तर यहाँका व्यावसायीहरु...

Rich Vs Wealthy

  We keep hearing that the rich are getting richer, don’t we? And it seems that COVID-19 made the gap even wider. The world’s 10 richest people have seen their combined wealth increase by half a trillion dollars since the pandemic began. Reading this made me think – what is wealth, and what is the difference between being rich and being wealthy? Many years ago I remember first hearing Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki say: “Many people think that being rich and being wealthy are the same thing. But there is a difference between the two: The rich have lots of money, but the wealthy don’t worry about money.” What he was getting at was that while the rich might have lots of money, they also tend to have lots of expenses and money worries. While they might have a high paying job, they still have to get up to work every day and as the current economic climate has shown too well, they may not have job security.
